East Point Reinsurance Company of Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary of Enstar Group Limited, would like to warn the public and our clients about an apparent cloning scam involving the unauthorised use of our name and brand. We strongly advise against clicking on any suspicious links or responding to any unsolicited communications without verifying the source of the communication, website or social media handle.

How to protect yourself

We recommend taking the following steps:

• Verify with the Hong Kong Insurance Authority: Check the IA Register (Insurance Authority – Register of Authorized Insurers) to make sure you are dealing with an authorised firm and check the IA Alert List (Insurance Authority – Alert List) for firms to avoid.
• Use Verified Contact Information: Only use contact details listed on the IA Register, not those provided in direct communication from unsolicited contacts.
• Reject Unsolicited Offers: Be cautious of unsolicited offers for financial products through websites, social media, messaging services or over the phone, even if you initiated the contact.
• Report the Fraud: If you suspect that you may be a victim of fraud, contact the Hong Kong Police (https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/contact_us.html?st=headingNineteen) or your local police department.
